AUGUST 20239AMPIN ENERGY & JCAPCPL SIGNED FOR 2.8 MWP SOLAR PROJECTARUNACHAL PRADESH & NEEPCO SIGN A MOA FOR WORKING TOGETHER ON 2620 MW OF HYDRO PROJECTSA25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between AmpIn Energy Transition and JCAPCPL, a joint venture between Tata Steel and Nippon Steel, has been formally established. According to the terms of the deal, AmpIn Energy Transition would supply 2.8 MWp of solar energy to the Jamshedpur facility of JCAPCPL.The agreement was signed by Pinaki Bhattacharyya, the managing director and CEO of AmpIn Energy Transition, and Ujjal Chakraborti, the managing director of JCAPCPL, to officially launch the project's execution phase. AmpIn Energy Transition will install solar panels for JCAPCPL so that it can use solar electricity to reduce its carbon emissions and advance its environmentally friendly business practises.In acknowledging the importance of the contract, Chakraborti stated, "Partnering with AmpIn Energy Transition is consistent with our goal to more ecologically friendly operations. As we continue to pursue sustainability, we anticipate concrete results from this endeavour.A similar statement was made by Bhattacharyya, who said that working with JCAPCPL is a crucial first step in advancing the usage of renewable energy in India. We want to promote an atmosphere where energy is used more sustainably. The electricity generated by the solar arrays will be incorporated into JCAPCPL's regular operations once they are up and running. AMemorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), an NTPC subsidiary, and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The deal, which focuses on the building of 2620 MW hydroelectric projects, was formally signed in Itanagar.India is working to reach its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) goal, which includes these hydro projects. The 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity target is intended to be reached by 2030. The achievement of this goal is seen as being crucial to India's goal of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2070.The hydro projects have the ability to boost regional economic growth in addition to being environmental efforts. The projected results include creating job opportunities and fostering technical knowledge and skill development within the neighbourhood. The establishment of the MoA will allow NEEPCO and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to collaborate on the creation of hydroelectric power projects in the area.
