AUGUST 20239TOP STORYSJVN SECURES FIVE HYDRO POWER PROJECTS OF 5,097 MW IN ARUNACHAL PRADESHAVAADA ENERGY BAGS SOLAR PROJECT FROM SECISJVN, the Arunachal Pradesh government has given the business permission to build five hydroelectric projects totaling 5,097 MW: 3,097 MW Etalin, 680 MW Attunli, 500 MW Emini, 420 Amulin, and 400 MW Mihumdon. The projects are located along the Dibang River's tributaries. The business claimed that because private power developers "showed less interest" in carrying out the projects assigned to them, the state government cancelled the MoUs with them. The projects that were subsequently removed from private developers are now being transferred to central PSUs.The 3,097 MW Etalin and 680 MW Attunli projects were previously assigned to private players, according to the business, which cited SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma. However, because neither project had made any physical progress, they were now assigned to SJVN. Projects have also been given to NEEPCO, NHPC, and THDC in addition to SJVN, another PSU.The allocation of all 5 projects in the Dibang Basin, according to Sharma, was made after the Arunachal Pradesh government took into account his "One Basin, One Developer" proposal. This will ensure that resources are used efficiently and that projects are finished on time. Over Rs 50,000 crore would be invested in the development of these projects. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Power Minister R K Singh will both be present when the agreement for the execution of these projects is signed. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has awarded a 280 megawatt renewable energy project to Avaada Energy. The central government's nodal organisation for renewable energy project auctions is SECI."Avaada Energy has won the 280 MWp project under tariff-based competitive bidding carried out by SECI as a part of SECI's 2 GW ISTS (inter-state transmission system) connected solar projects (Tranche XI)," the business stated in a statement. The competitive auction gives Avaada Energy the freedom to establish a solar power facility anywhere in India and provide clean electricity over the long term at a rate of Rs 2.61/kWh.The project will go into operation within 18 months of the power purchase agreement (PPA) being signed. The business withheld any project-related financial information. According to industry standards, it costs Rs 6-7 crore to install 1 MW of green energy capacity.
