MAY 20238TOP STORIES Vibrant Energy has awarded a 99-MW wind energy project to Suzlon, a developer of renewable energy solutions. "Suzlon Group has received an order from Vibrant Energy for 33 wind turbine generators featuring its new 3 MW (each) series with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular tower for a 99 MW wind power project which is expected to be commissioned by FY25," the statement continued. The order's value was not, however, disclosed by the business. "We are happy to report that we have placed our first order with Vibrant Energy, a reputable supplier of corporate renewable energy solutions. J P Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, said, "I look forward to a long cooperation with Vibrant Energy in the coming years towards developing a sustainable India.A project of this size can supply electricity to 307,000 families annually while also reducing 2.92 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions. "We are pleased to collaborate with Suzlon Energy on our project, which will offer our corporate customers 24/7 sustainable energy. We are teaming with Suzlon for the first time, and we anticipate working together on many more similar opportunities, according to Srinivasan Viswanathan, CEO of Vibrant Energy.In less than a month, the new Suzlon 3 MW series has received three orders. The agreement states that Suzlon Energy will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply), provide erection and commissioning services, as well as comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning. This order of the larger wind turbine model from the new 3 MW series, the S144-140m, is a part of that agreement. The government would soon approve the joint venture between Vedanta and Foxconn's plan to manufacture chips as part of the $10 billion Indian Semiconductor Mission (ISM). This will open the door for the Center's initiative to make India a semiconductor hub on the international stage. They have a plan to manufacture 40 nm (nanometer) chips, but there are specific requirements they must meet.Vedanta Foxconn Semiconductors Ltd (VFSL) has inked initial agreements for the transfer of technology with GlobalFoundries, a US-based company, and STMicro electronics (STMicro), a European chip manufacturer. One of the officials stated that the information technology (IT) ministry had received the two's details. According to the source, VFSL has been requested by the government to provide information regarding the "binding technology transfer agreement", it has with one of the two businesses.The IT ministry, the ISM's nodal ministry, has urged to GlobalFoundries and STMicro that they also purchase stock in VFSL. "The concept has received a favourable response from them. We are awaiting their response to the plan," the individual stated. According to GlobalFoundries, it was unable to "confirm any of this information" and had "no further comment." CEO David Reed, VFSL has a contract with "a technology partner" to transfer and qualify a large volume, production-grade technology with licences for integrated circuit fabrication in India.
