OCTOBER 20244Engineering the Future of MobilityAutomotive components manufacturing industry in Haryana has been growing strongly and has made the state an important center of India's automotive sector. Haryana's strategic location close to the National Capital Region (NCR) and great infrastructure ­ proximity to major highways and railway networks ­ have largely facilitated this growth. Further, the state supports some of India's most powerful automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) namely Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, and Honda, which have played an important role in the development and flourishing of a robust ancillary ecosystem of component manufacturers. Haryana's industrial clusters in Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, and other districts have emerged as focus points for automotive component manufacturing that includes engine parts and transmission, electrical systems and plastics. The state offers a ready supply chain infrastructure, allied to the Automotive Mission Plan and 'Make in India' initiative that has helped in developing an atmosphere for the growth of automotive components manufacturers. In addition, Haryana's business friendly environment, which includes simplified regulatory frames and incentives for the manufacturing, continues to attract investment from the domestic and foreign players. Along with growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), the market is also being reshaped, driving component manufacturers to adapt and innovate to meet the changing needs of EV production. The rise of this sector has been driven by investments into technology and upskilling to facilitate this transition.In this special issue, we introduce you to the top companies in this segment.
