As the world is undergoing rapid changes in the digital domain, the adoption of AI in routine work activities will transform global work systems. As a recently submitted study by EY on behalf of Liberty Global reveals, the future is inseparable from AI and the large-scale displacement of human labour in telecommunications-dependent countries is inevitable.
Named as "Wired for AI," the survey focuses on the telecom sector as playing the key role in using AI to enhance worker performance. AI impacts 50% of tasks where efficiency is increased. Therefore, AI is on the way to empowering several sectors with its transformative powers. Contrary to the fears of job displacement, the report assumes that AI will accompany human capabilities, resulting in a symbiotic relationship between the workforce and technology.
The USA, Germany, the UK, and France are the first beneficiaries of AI, while the USA has the most benefits. The report estimates that as much as $7 trillion will be added to the global economy through AI-driven productivity. This level of influence may result in a complete redefinition of the traditional workforce. AI, coupled with the ability to enhance productivity and innovation, is expected to permeate all industries globally as they embark on a journey of the future where humans and technology cohesively unite, paving the way for unparalleled development and opportunities.
